These people have no backbone, and even less testicular fortitude.

I believe we've been involved needlessly in too many wars as it is, and we should use more caution in spilling more of our brave young people's blood in attempts to change the behaviors of regimes on the other side of the world.
The Korean "conflict", wasn't really a war because it would have been a violation of the war powers act for us to send troops and bombs there in Truman's administration, so he just ignored it and sent them to a "conflict".
Other presidents of both parties since have sent our troops to resolve various "conflicts" or "police actions" or whatever other euphemism they wanted to call the war in their time. And congress critters of both kinds have tried to further restrict the presidents of the other party from having such terrible powers to get us into the next war. Their efforts have had little if any effect.
It's one of the acts they perform in order to have it on record that they tried to prevent the conflict or disagreement or dust-up of the day from becoming yet another war. It's similar in intent and authenticity to their periodic searches for ways to reduce federal spending while the country still spends several million dollars a year producing pennies and nickles, which each cost more than their face value to make.

Like it or not, with great blessings come great responsibilities. The U.S. cannot abdicate it's role and responsibility as a world leader. Never mind that in the case of iran, they call us the great Satan and Israel the little Satan. Never mind as well, that as THE leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world, they create much suffering and chaos, by proxy, and are a constant threat to stability not just in the region, but worldwide. This can cannot be kicked down the road any longer, it must be dealt with. For Republicans to join with dems in hamstring this President is unconscionable.

I am a pretty staunch conservative. I am also a very big proponent of separation of powers, and the checks and balances system.
The killing of Solemeni, however you spell it, I beleive was justified.
That being said I think we spend far too much money in needless conflicts, I think this measure should have been passed during Obama's term to keep him from calling thousands of drone strikes with no oversight.
All in all I think taking some of these powers out of the executive branch is a good call regardless of who's in office.
