I’m back in Missouri for another long week. Mama called last night and told me I got this final notice from the NRA. She says...I thought you just renewed. I did a few months ago. She read me the letter and the whole premise is asking me to join as a new member. Even offers the same gift I just received in the mail last week! Methinks they are definitely having some issues!

Its because of outsourcing. I only get one magazine these days, Fur Fish & Game. I get a "new subscriber" offer a couple times a year and I renew for the 3 year plan. They left hand really doesn't know what the right hand is doing because those hands are in different locations around the country.

Yes, I`ve heard people grouse about how often NRA sends out fund raising notices, and doesn`t seem to know what they`ve already done or what they`re doing. It`s intentional. They just use mass mailings to saturate everything and everyone to ensure they`re getting the maximum donations.
I`m an NRA Life-Endowment member, and I`ll always be an NRA member, but, personally, I really like Gun Owners of America now. I`m an annual GOA member, and I guess always will be. I wish I could join GOA as a life member too, and maybe one day I`ll be able to afford that.
The main point is this: if you value your Second Amendment rights, join, and financially support a good gun rights org., because sad as it is, there are powerful forces working hard, everyday, to erode your right to keep and bear arms. I believe GOA is a wonderful group to be a part of and just couldn`t recommend them more.

I am about to join the GOA, not happy with the NRA and their luxury spending.

I answered a call from the NRA once, and the guy asked me, "what would you do if the government came asking for your guns?"
I told him I would say, "Molon labe."
He said, *what's that mean?"
I replied, *You work for the NRA and you don't know what molon labe means???"

I've been a Benefactor-Life member for more than a decade and I still get solicitations to renew. No biggie. I send some coin when I can, but don't sweat it when I can't.
I'm just glad the NRA is around to fight for or constitutional rights. If you think the NRA as a whole wastes money, maybe you could consider donating to one of their political wings.
The NRA works toward gun rights on the whole. Then there is the NRA-ILA- National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action, and the NRA-PVF National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund.
These two entities works strictly on 2A legislation and getting 2A friendly candidates elected, respectively. These are both fine organizations that do critical work on our behalf.

In my opinion the NRA has gone from a 2nd amendment advocacy group to an organization dedicated to lining the board members pockets.
They have become so ineffectual that during this whole Virginia debacle, it took them weeks just to put up a billboard.
I want to beleive there is still hope for the NRA, but so far I dont see a lot of forward progress in working that out.
