I spent today building 1.75 inch high shims and insulation boards to put on top under the lid. Tomorrow I will install 22 shims and boards. All I have left is making sugar bricks in getting them on top on the hive frames in the shim area. Trying to get mostly finished so I can hunt.

Here is my 2023 Nuc order form. I'm planning on selling around 30 nucs next year. This year I sold 20. I kept the price low for next year. I only raised it $15. Most of inflation happened after I had bought all that was needed for 2022. The year 2024 will be a different story. God Bless and blessing to the bees. Sharing the Spirit of the bees.

If you noticed your allergies and or some sniffing there is a reason. The pollen count is high for Ohio Valley region. The last two pollinators are blooming for the year. They are cedar trees and winter hazelnut trees. The hazelnut flower are yellow and neat looking tree/bush. I wish I had some on my place.

Being a beekeeper the up and down is not preferred. The bees are better off being cold verses any days above 50. They fly all day looking for food and resources and there are almost none. The ideal temperature is 35 to 40. There they can move around their hive to get food, but cold enough they don't fly. Plus it takes less honey to keep the hive bee bundle 85 degrees. They do work harder when it's cold, but they consume more on flying days. The winter bees are bigger and can store enough food to last for months when cold.

I'm kinda late to the game, but have been checking out this thread a bit...very interesting. I looked up the McMahan Honey Farm, and bookmarked their information. Have to say their flavored creamy honey sounds awesome. May have to make a road trip north when we come out in April. May have to come visit Wild Wayne's too as that looks to be only an hour and a half away from where we'll be. One of the objectives of us coming out is to look around, so road trips are are good, right? Question for you...are there any honey farms around the Columbus, IN area? Years ago, when we lived in far northern California and the girls were young, we'd buy honey by the 5 gallon pales. We used honey for everything, and it's great because it never goes bad. If possible, when we get out there for good we'd like to get back into the practice of using honey again.

There’s hunters honey farm in Martinsville. That’s not too far of a drive from Columbus. It’s a cool place that gives tours, classes, sells bees and all components, and other things as well. huntershoneyfarm.com/

I think you should post all your end of the world links and stories in your new page. Really increase that traffic. Get some dedicated customers that way. At a minimum tell them about your Russian better than all, never fail, win the world, future predicting blood line, so there’s a little intimidation involved.

None of the posts are " end of the world". Just showing what is going on in the news. What technologies, what evils exists etc. Yes, some bad and hard times. Basically, everything we learned from the news where made up stories to hide the truths and to narrate their directives. It ifs unbelievable what technologies mankind has created since the 50's. The world would be a great place to live. Bee Happy and the Golden Years are on the horizon. It will just be a bumpy road to those years. I do believe Europe will crash 1st and push the overseas dollars back to USA and North America. This wills save the USA financial system. The direction the earth goes, will be know very soon. Davos system verses metals backed system. One side wants WW3 and others wants the Earth to be like Heaven. What side are you on?

I tell ya something close to that. I have 1 hive here at home in my yard. I live right in the middle of town in the hood. That hive each spring makes a couple buckets worth of a honey that is almost clear. And they start making it just as soon as warmish weather hits. Now there's not alot to forage on here in town but there is a McDs down the street from me. I've wondered before if they might bee dumpster diving for caffeine...

This past Saturday I bought 12 1" x 12" x 8' pine boards and cut and built 13 6-frame hive boxes and 12 bottom boards. In next couple weeks the boxes and bottom boards will be wax dipped. I finished assembling them last night. I still need to put handles on the boxes. I keep forgetting. Sometime before July I need to make 11 more boxes and 12 lids. Make a total of 12 6-frame two deep high hives.
