Well I know where all my birds are! FeatherDuster, you been baiting them to stay around up here? If not you should start. Not a duck or goose in the area...

A couple of weeks ago there must have been 75-100 geese in the corn stubble by the pond. They stayed for a couple days and went on. Had a pair of ducks raise their young on the pond this spring. Only time I see ducks they are flying as high as an airplane and about as fast.

Not to sound like a broken record BUT DANG!
Yesterday I took a nice drive to get some idea of the inventory of ducks in my area and it was horrible, areas that historically held lots of ducks are empty, nada, zip.
I found approx. 1500-1800 geese in several different areas that usually hold them but I found maybe 10 ducks where as with the water and weather and the time of the year there should have been a 1000+ ducks.
I am at the point that I am not buying into all these stories that Ducks Unlimited, U. S. Fish and Wildlife and others are feeding us, I believe there is something seriously wrong with our waterfowl flyway.

I am trying to decide if I make one more attempt this weekend or just call it a season.
