just joined! I am a Canadian intending to hunt in Indiana for deer...any good places to stay for a single hunter like myself...not too expensive and hospitable to hunters!! I have a buddy in Valparaiso I can stay with for now, but I would like to be more independent!! Also are any public lands available nearby(Valparaiso) for this year? But I am hoping to make my hunting an annual thing so public places in Norther Indiana is cool too!! ... I am a senior but in good shape....can still drag a deer out! LOL!....not afraid to quarter it if necessary!! Any other info as far as regulations easily missed? trying to get all the info I can!! THANKS A LOT, GUYS! SAFE HUNTING!

I'd spend a good amount of time reading the regulations here as they can be complicated. For instance, you mention quartering the deer. However, the hunting guide for this year says "The deer head must remain attached to the carcass until the deer is registered with CheckIN Game and a confirmation number is issued." Here's a link: www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/2343.htm

However, you need to know to do that, have cell service, etc. Just want to make sure they aren't surprised.
