Heard a group fly over this morning that I thought sounded like specks and my brother thought was snows. Neither of us put eyes on them so no confirmation.

Just got back from a week long vacation circling Lake Michigan and I saw just about enough ducks to make a sandwich. There were Canada geese where you would expect to find them just no ducks.

Just saw a news report that a radar image was thought to be a fire. Ended up being 600,000 ducks. It was upper midwest somewhere. If I find the story I will post it.
Also read this morning the changing pattern of specks may have impact on traditional wintering grounds for puddle ducks. The specks migrate sooner and hammer the rice fields dry and flooded eating up the food the ducks rely on.
Mid continental Specks are estimated to be 1.5 to 2.1 million and growing.

Knock off those last 3-0's and I might believe it. minnesota.cbslocal.com/2019/10/17/radar-picked-up-possible-wildfire-turned-out-to-be-600000-ducks/
