tynimiller I have to admit that I haven't missed hunting with a slug gun @ all. I do wonder what (if anything) will happen with rifles when the law sunsets after this season... Lol. Rifles arnt going anywhere.. I'm pretty sure it doesn't come up till end of 2020 season? That's why I phrased is as "I do wonder what (if anything) will happen when the law sunsets after this season." And (unless something has changed) I do believe that it sunsets in June 2020 (after the current deer hunting season). Here's a link to hb1231 from 2016 iga.in.gov/legislative/2016/bills/house/1231#document-afa20d5e

It really surprises me how few of deer get harvested with a muzzleloader during firearms season. Of course, if you look at the long range stats you can see what happened. Guys that were once muzzleloader guys are now rifle guys. Unless the state forces me to I will never go back to using a shoulder breaking slug launcher. My .308 shoots way smoother than anything I ever imagined. I can't fathom ever having to go back to a mule kicking shotgun again.

The antler Buck kill is up.... BB kill is down! Seems like all I see is bucks, anymore. A doe is that mystical trophy creature.

The antler Buck kill is up.... BB kill is down! Seems like all I see is bucks, anymore. A doe is that mystical trophy creature. Isn't nature's ability to adapt incredible? Not that long ago bucks were mystical creatures and does seemed to want to come say hi. Now, after years of heavy doe hunting, they hide better and bucks are the dumb ones.

I played around on the new interactive link.
We have one tiny (100 acres) public ground that does not allow the use of bonus antlerless licenses. 11 deer have been checked in this year in Decatur County as coming off public ground, 7 antlerless of which 4 were checked is as using shotgun or muzzleloader.
So..... should I expect to see 4 arrests soon?

Honestly, I wonder if it was road poachers that checked them in "public" to keep from answering questions as to whose property they were hunting and not knowing the rules. Side by sides seem to be the preferred method these days.

The survey asks to narrow down where in the county. But, local COs ask questions, and family or friends ask questions, and idiots talk.

What day we go over 100k Saturday or Sunday ... I am thinking Saturday! With forecast now showing Thur. and Friday no rain I suspect by Sat. a.m. we will break the 100 K mark. Just checked totals and right at 89,000. Sat and Sunday looks to be a washout though. Don’t think we will pass 100K this weekend! Time will tell

Agree 100,000 not gonna happen this weekend.
