Hi Everyone!
For anyone heading out this next week & weekend to bag some geese, I may be able to take whatever you don’t want from the bird off your hands and put it to good use instead of it being tossed & wasted (ex. If all you’re keeping are the breasts, I will take the entire rest of the bird fully intact). My dog eats a special diet and thrives on wild game. I am NOT using this for any human consumption, 100% of it will be going to my pup. Located in the Greenwood area.

Just a word of caution, do not feed goose raw to your dogs. My neighbors kids breasted a bunch of geese behind their house and left the rest. Their dads truck dog and closest friend found them and came VERY close to dying. Vet said that dogs digestive system can’t handle the fat from geese and it poisoned the blood stream. Dog had to have a blood transfusion.

Dog had to have a blood transfusion. It might be due to lead shot in the birds. Some people shoot at Geese using Lead shot and don't kill the bird. The Bird flies off and then get's shot by someone else. When they clean the bird they may not find all the lead pellets inside the bird and if a dog eats the bird with lead pellets inside it they can die or get sick from lead poisoning. Just a though. Not happening as much these days and more people are using steel shot or other alloys in the shot and not lead anymore. but back in my younger days all we used was Lead Shot. So there is still a lot of lead shot out there on the ground or at the bottom of the lakes. If a duck or goose feeds in the muck bottom of a lake and ingests some lead pellets it can stay in their body for a while and if the dogs eat them they can get the lead inside them. Same with humans eating Geese or Ducks that have lead contamination inside them. And since lead slows down the ducks nervous system And makes them dumb and slower than the other ducks/geese they are the ones most likely to decoy into your set and get shot. It's easier to shoot the dumb slow ducks that the faster smarter ducks.  Or it just could be like the doctor said.. too much fat and grease in the Geese. But Dogs are caines and are like wolves and suppost to eat MEAT. |

If duster says you can’t, you can’t ! "Duster".....the guy who's Avatar is a monkey with a handgun?!? You SHOULDN'T give monkey guns....but it happens!!! Seems ironic to discuss what you CAN and CAN'T do now doesn't it? I think if I had a picture of a monkey holding a dead deer as my avatar I probably wouldn’t make comments about other monkeys holding guns 🤷🏼♂️😂 |

I never meant to imply Duster WAS a monkey with a gun.... my comment was aimed at how you CAN give a monkey a gun....even though it may not be a smart thing to do...and the associated irony of it. Sort of like shooting waterfowl with lead shot. You CAN.....you are just not supposed to. |
