Went to Lasalle with my daughter. Slow slow slow.... Made for a rough opening day but hanging out with my daughter was worth every second. On another note the weather was awesome. Cloudy skies all day. Wish every day dove hunting was like that at least. Will try again tomorrow somewhere.

We got a late pick and got our last choice field. They were flying high here to, I wanted to switch chokes but didnt bother. Birds just didn't want to be at that field. I shot one shell all day.

Went to the Blue Berry Festival all day yesterday. Went out for a while this morning and got 3, I'll be going back out this afternoon. BIG change in weather coming for Wednesday temps at night in the low to mid forties, this could push a lot of doves south.

BIG change in weather coming for Wednesday temps at night in the low to mid forties, this could push a lot of doves south. Wife, kid, and MIL went Friday, and then the women went back Sunday. Said crowd wasn't as bad as in past years. Hope you got to try a blueberry donut. My wife stood in line for 1hr40min for a dozen. They are that good, as she saved me one. Lol

Must have been the unadvertised Hunting-Indiana Blueberry Festival gathering. I was there with the daughter/SIL's family Saturday morning, then back for the parade yesterday.
Hunted Winamac Sunday: High Flyers is right! Rough day to be out with the 28 ga, but both SIL and I ended up with 6 birds.
An all around good weekend.

Buddy and I got fifteen total between the two of us on opener. Just got back from today's hunt and managed another four between three of us. These public land resident birds are feeling the pressure--hoping we get some new birds when temps start dropping up north.

Rat: hats off to you for taking a youth hunter and pretty one at that!
Those pigeons can be pretty tasty if cooked right.
