Had a discussion with some guys about this scenario. Say you are in a Walmart or wherever with your family. You hear shooting in another part of the store start up. I say I would get between my people and the shooting with weapon drawn and maneuver them away from the gunfire toward the nearest exit,or hideout, while covering them.
Others thought they might send their family to exit or cover and go toward the shooter to try to stop them.
What would you do?

Its amazing the things the government does @waynes as I’m sure you already know, There was a top secret group of “psychic soldiers” led by Bill Django that used their minds to do powerful things to their enemies. Including but not limited to walking through walls and stopping the hearts of goats by merely staring at them. It’s true there is limited writing available but there is some video footage of it.

You guys ever notice that there were no mass shootings 150 plus years ago. Back then a gun on your side was a very important tool. That is how one protected yourself from both 4 legged and two-legged critters..
After thinking about what I posted I must confess I was wrong. There were mass shootings back then. In 1890 the US Government slaughtered 100's of mostly women and children that were for the best part unarmed Lakota Native American Indians at Wounded Knee South Dakota.

Get as many people out safe as possible, then the hunt would be on I hope is my answer. This brings to mind a quote that Jeff Cooper once said, "An unarmed man can only flee from evil, fleeing from evil will not stop it"

With the open carry rule in effect in Texas I asked some people I know around Dallas about it. They said El Paso is a very gun intolerant area, and there are a LOT of blue hats there.
After taking a SD legalities class, my response now would be to get the hell out with anybody I could grab while at the same time being very vigilant of the people around me, and gun would be out.

I would never know until I was part of the mess. Even the most thought out practiced plans are hard to execute when needed.
Without a doubt my instincts would be to protect my wife and kids, then myself.
We have to go through active shooter drills at work. Run, hide then fight is the training. Never seek the shooter but every one of us has different perspective.

My plan would be to get myself and whoever I’m with out or to safety. My gun is there to help accomplish that. Like one of the well known trainer in that world states: if someone doesn’t care enough for their safety to arm themselves who am I to argue with them. (ie why should I) Sorry, take responsibility for yourself.

It is situational awareness. I can relate to saving people in risk but have not been shot at. I know that I would do something

My thought is get the family out, then, depending on the situation, try to intervene. Confusion would be everywhere, probably. In that kind of chaos, you could be mistaken for a bad guy and attacked by other armed citizens, or the police.
Family first, then save others if you can, think twice before going hunting

I want to know how wal-mart's internal security images got out to liberal News outlets within hours? That stuff is hard to get..only one or two people can download those images. It's not like cop dramas where they go in the back and get a tape. Most managers can't do it. I can see them getting it to the cops if they thought the shooter was still at large, but he was caught immediately. Then it gets from presumably law enforcement to left wing blogs and news outlets, who also had this manifesto, all before the main media outlets? In the midst of that chaos? Looking closely, it looks like a picture of the video monitor itself, which suggests a cop on the scene snapping a pic to save time. Yet he or she finds the time to get the picture to hard-left news outlets? I'm not wearing the tinfoil hat yet, but I'm getting the roll out of the drawer. And now thanks to the endless coverage we will get two or three more shootings. I say the Walmart you work at in Southern Indiana doesn't have the same security procedures as a Walmart in El Paso,Tx when dealing with security tapes...different demographics! The images I seen online looks as if the person monitoring the cameras took the pics as things happened then passed them on for some reason IMO.

Sometimes the camera equipment varies slightly, due to updating schedules, but trust me, the procedures are ( supposed to be ) identical. They have a policy form everything. I agree with you that it looks like someone took a picture of the screen and passed it on. THAT makes sense...but it showed up in news articles--on far left sites, nearly instantly. That is odd.

I told my family that all box stores have fire exits on the outside walls. Head for the nearest outside wall in the opposite direction and follow that wall to an exit.
It sure helps TV thieves escape!
