Stands and blinds are set, xbow and rifle are sighted in, plots are planted.
Now all we have left to do is add some rain...

freedomhunter That buck in the back looks pretty good! Also, the buck in that 3rd pic would be awfully tempting to me this year.. I collected the last of my public land cams while ago. None were stolen, thankfully. Gotta wait until I get home to see what's on there.

I made some room in the deep freeze for some new deer meat. Its double ground with a pound of beef and 1 pack of bacon. It's all the deer meat left from last year except for 2 packs of steaks.

Doing the same ground up some deer and some cheeper cuts of beef from a 1/4 I bought a while back and made some summer sausage That will be gone in a day as soon as people find out I made it 😀

My prep consists of laundering EVERYTHING I`ll ever wear to hunt in scent-free laundry detergent. I`ve already trimmed shooting lanes at the ladderstands. This week, I`ll gather all the things I`ll have in the truck that I may want, such as range finder, binos, knives, grunt tube, etc. I`ve printed up sunrise/sunset tables for October, November and December, printed off temporary transportation tags. I`m nearly all ready.

Archery is stupid.
I changed arrows a couple weeks ago and have had a pretty hard time getting them tuned with slick trick grizz tricks. Thought I had it done and today everything was off again. Said screw it, tuned with field points and g5 havocs, done in 10 minutes.
Decided to go ahead and tune the grizz tricks to my back up bow. Was nearly done with that and telescoped 2 of my remaining 4 maxima hunters. Going to start over with bloodsports later this week.

Finally broke out the xgun. Ready to shoot 100 yards. I dialed in at 60...so if I hold on top of back the drop is about right at 100 to be in the 8 ring at least.

I’d stick with the G5 and be done IMO one of the best broadheads made reasonable cost easy to sharpen fly true hard hitting the only down side is they don’t have a blood trail like a rage or another big cutting head but you don’t have to worry about it opening early or not at all just me but simple isn’t all bad

That feeling you get when you walk 3/4 of s Mike to a trail cam only to realize you didn't turn it on

Or swap the card, get home to read it and realize that you put the same card back in the cam and have the new blank one still in your pocket. I've done that a number of times. At least the cams are only 20 minutes away.
