Scouted a new piece of SF tonight. Only about 1/2 hour from the house, but had never stepped foot on it before. Looked pretty good, some good sized tracks. Will probably hunt it a few times this year.

Gave final zero to the G4 ML at 100 yards. 12" drop at 200 yards.
When I mounted the scope, I used quick-release mounts so I could pull it off easily for hunts where optics are restricted. Since I'll be starting in Colorado this year, I removed the scope, took a few shots, then reinstalled. POI moved about 6" to the right. Took it back off, when I move from Colorado to Kansas I'll just have to make some adjustments when I reinstall the scope.
I'm pretty happy with loading and recoil using the 100gr BH209 load with the copper 270gr Fed Premium bullets. Haven't done any real accuracy testing yet, but it will be fine as-is for this season.

I made one of the tower stands a little more kid-friendly today. The blind doesn't fit perfectly, but it'll work. What kind of set up is that?

Spent last week working with the local foresters I thought I was doing a good job keeping up on my mangment plan but always open to professional advice he’s more into timber production than me I’m more about habitat and hunting.
It’s amazing how much I learned in a few days about invasive trees bushes plants and what works to kill them or keep them in check.
I was concerned about doing this this late in the year and blowing the few deer I have to the next county but this morning I watch the same doe with three fawns walk right out the woods down to the pond for a drink

Between work, dove season, and a mini anniversary trip, I wont be doing any more card pulls. I wanted to move a couple cams and get another pull after, but my stay out of the woods deadline is first week of september.
Im pretty sure I have the bedding nailed down and some travel routes. My hunting partner also has a spot they wecwill tag team to cover escape roures. There are 4 or 5 good bucks there.

It's about 110 in the shade here today. Sounds like a good day to have a few cold ones and organize my gear. I haven't done it since July. Organize my gear that is.

I checked the cams at my in-laws' house, no new bucks but the ones posted earlier in this thread are still hanging around.
Got my bivy sack out for the first time and figured out how to get into it. Kinda tight in there, but much lighter than a tent. It ought to work fine.
New bino pouch came in the mail, has room for my binos, rangefinder, and camera storage.

Checked rangefinder. Sorted duck gear inventory lifelines and harness, cleaned out the backpack....took a nap, watched some youtube videos on waterfowl hunting, watched my wife paint the porch...she is a hard worker

It is getting a tad bit late but, the farmer finally got the field tilled today and I'll be out early tomorrow morning planting my food plot

Well, the seeds are planted. Just need the good Lord above to water it for me. I used my 110# hopper Agri-Fab walk behind spreader to broadcast the seeds. It does a pretty good job although, it's not the easiest thing to push on freshly tilled soil. Especially when full. I planted Antler King "No Sweat" plot seeds. It's a mixture of Jerry Oats, Gulf annual rye grass, trophy rape seed.

I planted buckwheat 1st of August, but no rain. Nothing yet. Maybe later today/tomorrow rain.

Just finished poking holes in my Glendale Buck. I set him up at varies yardages, 14-40, and at different shot angles, broadside, quartering and quartering hard. I don't shoot quartering to unless it's just barely. All shots were elevated from my bow platform. I have a crabapple tree right next to it with branches I can shoot through and over.
