Anyone ever pick and eat these? Never even knew about them until last summer, but I was too late getting to them. Just went behind the house and picked a nice little batch. I’ve never eaten them, but I guess I’ll find out how they are this week. Maybe tomorrow with the whole chicken I’m going to smoke.  |

Well they weren’t too bad. Not my favorite, but they went good with the smoked chicken. Cooked them in a little butter and garlic.

My grandpa brought me about 4 lbs of them a couple years ago. I found them to be delicious!

Seen some half eaten ones in the woods today while trying to find my cell phone I lost yesterday.
No luck on either.

Was hoping I could call it at night and look for the light but that didn't work. I did find it yesterday. I went over everything I did before I notice I lost it. I found it in my gun safe! I went in there to grab my carry gun and set it down in the safe, grabbed the gun and closed the door. Drove me nuts trying to find it. Lol |

Picked a fresh batch of chanterelles this weekend in between rain storms. It was my first time going after them...thought they tasted pretty good.

I let a friend come over two different times in the last few weeks and he left with three bags full of chanterelles plus a good sized chicken of the woods.

Found several yesterday while searching for a lost arrow on the hillside behind my target. Didn't have any way to carry them out with me at the time, but I'll be going back up there today or tomorrow with a bread sack and my hiking sticks. I've seen them before out at the consy club property, but have never gathered them.
