Somewhere I read online, or from an e-mail from IDNR. They were proposing, or had voted to change the crossbow regulations stating that since we have the OBR, that they were going to allow a buck to be taken with a crossbow. In otherwords, if you hadn't taken a buck already, you could take one in late archery with a crossbow. I'm I correct, or is this a figment of my imagination?

Firehawk,
That was actually a rule chaneg for last year.
You could have taken a buck in late season with a crossbow last year, that also goes for this year and next year.
That is if you haven't killed one with a bow or gun prior to the late season.
After 2006 it will be evaluated to see if they want to keep the rule or not.
It has nothing to do with the OBR. Although if they keep the OBR chances are better that the late seaosn crossbow buck will stick around too.
Fire up that Horton this late season and ENJOY...

Thanks Woody, I knew I didn't imagine seeing that.
Dont' worry, I'll have the Horton out in late archery, I might get it out for fall turkey too. I found a good spot to set up a blind in the valley at the head of the lake on the club's property I belong to.
I knew the OBR didn't have anything to do with it other than I read that it was reasoned that if you could only take one buck, what difference did it make WHAT weapon was used.

A dead buck is a dead buck, no matter what it was killed with.

enjoy the season where it is........... Basicly, your getting "crumbs" and "leftovers"...AND YOU BETTER ENJOY IT!!!!... lol Not to worry though, it's being looked at and changes are on the horizon. There USED to be an "attitude" that kids can hunt the same days as adults......BUT THATS CHANGING TOO!!!!!! ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY!!!!!!
