The pic shows more sunlight in the front with heavier shade in the back....your beans going to get the light they need? I will be planting my beans hopefully around memorial day....farmers are itching to get into the fields and some are but many are still on hold because of the wet conditions yet. That's a great seedbed with a disc. Did you plant ag beans or a forage type?

Ag beans round up ready. Sun may be a problem, I limed the fields and fertilized. I will seed late summer over the beans with radishes and turnips.

I over seed my beans with turnips and winter wheat as well. I will use RR ag beans also, but I have an old 2 row planter that I may use...I run 30" centers but split the rows....I may get lazy and just broadcast them as well. I hope your plot turns out well for you!

I cannot get beans to grow in such a small spot, well grow to maturity I should say. I'll probably still plant a few though for summer forage anniliation.

I have the same issue with beans, but they are just there to let the wildlife eat the young tips off. Never have had a good stand that matured.

Interesting. I've found soybeans are very easy to grow?
Nice looking plot !

Man I’m hoping to get something in the ground this weekend, things haven’t even been close to being dry enough to even try . I think this is the latest I’ve ever been, heard on the radio today the Mississippi River has been above flood stage for 110 days so far .

I think this is the latest I’ve ever been, heard on the radio today the Mississippi River has been above flood stage for 110 days so far . I drove down to Arkansas and back recently and saw a center pivot irrigation system in the middle of what looked like about a 500 acre lake..... There's flooded fields about 3 miles away from the Mississippi River where I-57 crosses it.

Big day of food plot work. Sprayed all of my clover alfalfa fields (7 acres) with Imox to control unwanted weeds and grasses. Then prepped a couple spots for new turnip plots, mowed down real short then sprayed with a heavy dose of Glyphosate to get a good kill / burn down. Will till and plant after Gly does it's thing.
We could use a little rain now.

Way too dry here now. Grass is turning brown, I see some areas of corn fields with the leaves curling and turning blue.
The ponds have dropped about a foot in the past week. Feast to famine, water wise.

Went to property and took down 6 ladder stands today. Hot as heck but got them down and by the barn. 3 more to go and then only setting up 4 for my guests. Wanted to make them safe as some of these have been up 10 years with out being used.

So this year hasn’t been a normal plant for me so kinda thinking about my fall plant in a couple weeks. I have an acre of radish 5lb that I know is going in , but was wondering if I mix clover in if it would help me in the spring if it’s wet again or should I wait & frost seed ? What ratio if I mix it in & has anyone tried this ? I have some Alfalfa I want to put in also in a different plot and am thinking wait till spring to plant it . Thoughts & suggestions welcome

I just finished a little 5 lbs buckwheat plot in my lower backyard. Blooms in 4 to 5 weeks. Hoping the bees get the nectar and pollen before the deer devour it.
