This girl has been hanging around most of the winter by my house. I hiked in today to see if she was still around (she is )

That's a shame. That would have been a lot of meat.

Moose can die from ticks, winter ticks, and a worm that deer have. The ticks make them weak and the worm that lives in the deer brain kills the moose because the brain isn't the same as a deer and it causes the moose to die after looking like it went crazy. Seen it on a show about moose.

I walked in a few times and checked on her, fairly easy to find each time(not a good sign). Was not showing signs of brain worm, I’ve seen that before and she was never acting off other than easy to find. I contacted dnr with location and pictures, they said they will let me know what they find.

No bullet holes and she was to far gone to select tissue samples.

That's a shame, I visited the Boundary Waters and Quetico National Park for many many years and there was no greater prize on a trip then to see a moose especially at a close distance when they didn't know you were there.
I would have a hard time hunting those gentle giants.

That’s why you don’t see them together the deer kill the moose at least that’s what I was always told
