Got my Texas hog after about 13 hours in stand. Nice boar..fought fog one night & 25 mph winds last night. Just shows how hard hunting real wild hogs is compared to tame fenced ones in Tennessee. We have a group of 3 that goes on a real hog hunt once a year. Went to Alabama, Georgia & Texas in the last 3 trips. Only 1 out of the 3 has come home with a hog each hunt. Thats 2 night hunts with each hunt 7 to 14 hours of stand time a night. So its a lot more work than most people think. So guess thats why people hunt the tame ones in Tennessee.

Good job. Headed to Bama to club for turkey season in few weeks. Hopefully I wont have hogs to deal with them like I do every year. But not holding my breath. Average killing 25 plus every time down there.

Yep stand hunting hogs is a long slow process. Much prefer the action with dogs. Even when the dogs aren't bayed you at least dont have to sit dead still and quiet. Drink a beer and BS with your buddies. Let the dogs do the work. Ha.
