Cameras still full price at Bedford. I did get a Traditions Pursuit G4 muzzleloader for $139, previously $280. Seems pretty nice, looking forward to some better weather to get out and shoot it. They also had the non-cerakote version for $109 w/scope. Seems really strange to me how you folks can walk into a shop and come out with a gun just like that. The fire hoops we have to jump through to get one is a lot different over here. Say I wanted a new 22 hornet I would have to sell this one and have it entered on my certificate then send it in to the police when would then grant me permission to replace it. If I wanted a different calibre I would have to give a reason for it and then prove I had somewhere to use it. Different worlds. Regards Billy. I was born and raised in the U.S. and couldn't be happier about it. I also feel very fortunate to have been born into a country that respects the God-given rights of all human beings. No disrespect intended, but it seems strange to me why anyone would put up with a ridiculous "waiting/cooling off period". I've been buying/selling/trading firearms since my early '20's. Many of my firearms were purchased, perfectly legally, with no paperwork, no background checks, no training required, and no registration. No-one has ever asked me where I was going to use any firearm. I can own as many as I see fit, without asking permission, or supplying a qualifying reason for their use. I can purchase a muzzle loader online and have it dropped on my door step with my daily mail. I can buy powders, primers, and projectiles without any records being kept... Sorry to say it, but you guys need to change your political leaders, and then your laws. This is strictly my opinion, but I'll stand by every word.

My uncle bought the last strikerfire at Shelbyville, the display one. His has a darker finish, I wonder if his is cerakote and mine is not? Don't know if there is a way to tell.

greetings mgderf Sorry to say it, but you guys need to change your political leaders, and then your laws.
To be perfectly honest changing the politicians now would make no difference at all, politicians will do anything to get a vote and that is exactly what they have done.
The attitude of the majority of the british public would need to be changed, as there is more against hunting and guns than there is hunters. I remember when us kids used to have a 410 strapped to our bikes going rabbit shooting, and i saved up to be able to go into a shop and buy ten shells. Those days have long gone never to return to the uk, The antis and politicians have seen to that. One either obeys the rules or one is going to get a visit from the police and the guns will go and certificate revoked. Just the way it is in the uk now, there is not a lot of shootings but an awful lot of stabbings are happening in the cities, Since the gates to immigration were opened by mrs Merkel the German leader the amount of stabbings rapes etc has gone stupid. Hence the majority voted to get out of the eu and take back control of our borders. It is a mess. Regards Billy.

Greenfield Walmart still has a strikerfire for 199. I wonder if I could take mine back with the 299 receipt then time around and go buy it for 199. Lol. The main reason being is mine is a very more silver finish compared to the display that is noticably darker. I WONDER IF I got the cerakote finish or not???
Sako,
I wish the US reported more on that, but won't!
Why because we the people might have a stornger idea against the political agenda.
I do say I am fascinated to learn more from you Sako. There is just so much to ask I wouldn't know where to start, you could talk about anything it would just be old news to you but to me and I am sure others it would be of great knowledge to know.

If it’s been less than two weeks I think it is, you can take the receipt in and they’ll give you the difference. I did that with a crossbow last year. Just call first and make sure.

I stopped at the Lawrenceburg walmart last night and they didn't have much at all marked down. I left without buying anything.

They need taken care of, but they are fantastic for kids or any new smokepolers. My suggestion is loose powder and round balls to start out. They will shoot out to about 50 yards with 30 grain of powder with no smoke or kick. You can work up to a comfortable load for each child from there and continue to work up in load and out in range as they, and everyone's confidence, grows.

I have an Encore that's 18 or 19 years old and it's too big for them. This will be split between both kids. I'll show them the ropes, but the main responsibilities of upkeep will be on them. Itll be fun trying out different loads.

Madison Walmart has 2 of the $109 and one at $139 and I couldn't see a price on the fourth. Probably the $199 everyone is talking about.

Pick up a Traditions Buckstalker for $99 last night. I do not know anything about muzzleloaders but have always contemplated getting one. Figured why not at that price. Now for two weeks I can reach out farther than with my xbow

I do not know anything about muzzleloaders but have always contemplated getting one. They are pretty much just like any other gun except how you load and clean it. Speaking of cleaning, make sure you clean it as soon as possible after shooting it. Black Powder and most substitutes are corrosive, and need to be removed from the barrel as soon as possible after ignition to prevent damage. Even my CVA manual warned about this despite the fact the barrel was made of stainless. In any case, the cleaning solution for black powder rifles differs from what you would use in smokeless powder guns. I use a cleaning solution made by Thompson Center but I hear you can use regular soap (dawn) and water. After cleaning, let it dry and then swab the barrel down on the inside with a good muzzleloader barrel wax to protect it. As far as loading is concerned, just make sure you don't exceed the maximum recommended powder load prescribed in the manual for your particular gun. I like using the pre-formed triple-7 pellets because I can remove them from the gun by unscrewing the breech plug so I don't have to fire it to unload it. Black powder and its substitutes are hygroscopic, so make sure you keep it dry. My dad made the mistake of leaving his unsealed triple-7 pellet box in with his hunting clothes over the winter and the next year none of his pellets would ignite. I store all my pellets in a metal ammo can with desiccant bags.
