I did have a friend who stuck one on the ground and another who spent an afternoon trying to shoot one in the air. He picked up a lot of arrows that day.

Cool.
While not with a bow (or a gun for that matter) I did run my one Springer Spaniel for a guy a while back in California. My dog was trained not to chase after the bird once it flushed, and this guy was a Falconer. It was probably the best day I've spent "hunting". He got a number of pheasants that day with his bird. I forget what bird it actually was but I was amazed at how long it's talons were. He said it had the largest talons in North America, IIRC they looked to be about 1 1/4"-1 1/2" long.
