I'm having one now and it's really messing up my computer screen. They are usually harmless & painless, but can be scary the first time. ( I thought I was having a stroke or something) In my case, they typically they start out as a small blurry spot and then morph into a blurry, boomerang-shaped area fully of waving, multi-colored lines that gradually expands until out of the field of vision. So far it has never occurred while driving, which is a good thing. I had the first one twenty years ago and went probably ten years before I had another. Maybe had 3-4 after that until last year when the frequency ramped up. Now I'm having about one per month. Not sure what that portends! Anyway, anyone ever had one and if so what did you think the first time?

I've had them since the mid 80s. With mine, the right side of my field of vision becomes obscured in both eyes. Excessive caffeine seems to trigger at times. The first few that I had were the most extreme. Once in a while I'll have a slight headache, but usually no pain. They can be very concerning, especially until you know what's going on.

...never heard of such a thing. If it happened to me I would have thought my mother was right...and I would go blind from doing that!

You guys every tried CBD for help? I tried CBD for my arthritis and back issues...can't say as i noticed much, but then again it might not have been a long enough test period. I'll be honest, I wish they sold those THC gummy bears at CVS... if it worked for my back, to heck with what anyone thought about it. It couldn't be worse than conventional treatment.

Ocular migrant without headache. I had my first about 10 years ago while at work. I didn't know what it was and it kind of wigged me out. It started as a rotating dot in the center of my vision, and got bigger like a halo and worked it's out of my vision in about an hour. I got my second about a year or two ago, and it was the same thing, except it went away in about 20 minutes.

Had them a a few times. I get a zigzag shaped worm looking thing, like a zigzag stitch, brightly colored. The first time I thought it was a floater, until I realized it was the same in both eyes, meaning it was not in the eyes, but the nerve.
Goes away after 3-4 hours.

Make sure you guys are doing a better ID on the wild mushroom collections. Ha! I pretty much stick with morels! I can identify a few others... turkey tails, witch's butter... but don't ingest them.

I occasionally get the flashing light thing. It starts out that my vision seems a little fuzzy in a certain spot. Then the string of lights starts and then grows. Best thing I can do then is take a couple of Tylenols and lay down until it goes away.
I haven’t had the full blown migraines in years... Knock on wood!

Every other or third year.
Starts out as a hole in the center of my vision with the periphery a little blurry. 20 minutes later I am hit with a headache bad enough to make me puke.
It has happened 3 times. The last time I recognized what was going on and downed 4 Advil (prescription strength dosage) and it headed off the headache portion.

Yep have and do get them and they lead to one of the worst headaches that I get. Worse than my regular migraine headaches. As soon as I get the blurry crescent moon I go for the meds ASAP. Bottle of Gatorade and lots of water seem to help along with Advil and Tylenol.

Seems to not happen as often when I make sure my water intake is up. This all seemed to take place when I changed shifts and my coffee intake was cut in half. So then my amount of water was also cut in half. I know its not a caffeine thing because coffee does nothing for relieving the headache.

I get these light strings about 2 or 3 times a year. As soon as I get one coming on I pop the Tylenol and lay down. I never get a headache. My biggest eye problem is Age Related Macular Degeneration. My right eye is a little fuzzy in the middle, in essence reverse tunnel vision. Since I am right handed that causes me some sighting in problems with my rifles and crossbow. The scope magnifications helps..as does a lighted reticle.

We all have those unique human things. I have a thing called floating blood pressure (low blood pressure). About 3-5 times a year my blood pressure raises to about normal and then all at one time it drops to very low pressure. When this happens I get very dizzy with stars for about 3-5 minutes then I feel very calm, relaxed, and coordinated. Pressure drops to 70/30 (very low). Most time it's around 110-120/50-60. Had it happen once hunting up in my stand.

My wife suffers from Migraines every time the barometric pressure changes. Sometimes they will keep her down for a couple of days. She has been currently on CBD oil. It's a miracle for many many conditions but pain management is really where it shines

I get a zigzag shaped worm looking thing, like a zigzag stitch, brightly colored. Mine start out with a little bit of blurriness, then escalate into this. When it happens I have a hard time focusing on things like measuring tapes. I don't have them very often. They pass within a half hour and are painless.
