Definitely some nice bows. Right now, the Bowtech Realm SR6 is the big I'm looking to purchase mid March. However, the Bear Kuma has caught my eye this past week. Little cheaper, but still has good speeds per the speed test I've seen. I'll definitely be shooting these bows along with a few others before making a decision on it. Hoyt had my eye for a long time but, I just can't afford it.

I am "Thinking" of getting a Mathews Vertix. The Great Outdoors in Jasper have them for $834.00 I shoot a 2007 Mathews Switchback XT now that I really like and it is hard to lay down that much money to get something that does what I already have.

I get your thinking. I have a 2015 Mathews HTR that I like a lot. Still tempted by the Triax. But I won't buy it. I don't feel like it will make me better. Maybe in three or four years or maybe not... Still is fun to think about it

So I went with Bowtech SR6. He offered me an outstanding deal on an unused Hoyt RX1 though. Although that's an outstanding bow and felt nice in the hand, I didn't like the vibration, the draw cycle was rough and the creep was more than I was comfortable with. Also played with the Bear Kuma 30. Very nice but, just didn't quite feel right in my hand. I had it narrowed down to the SR6 and RX1 and shot them side by side and the Bowtech was a no brainier for me. I traded my old bow, case, quiver and release in as well and came home with a new trophy ridge quiver that has a green LED light inside the hood and three on top, a Scott Recon release, a bow kick stand, forearm guard for my hunting clothes, and 3 trail cam mounts and a polo. Very happy with my experience at Riverside Archery in Sumava, IN. George is very knowledgeable and personable. Anyone in the NW part of the state should check him out. I liked the looks of the Athens bows online and on here. I just don't like the thought of having to travel so far (far for me) to get them worked on. Maybe if they expand a little more and get some in closer to my location.

I am also still shooting an old Switchback, mine is an LD. It still does everything I need it to do. I really have no desire to replace it.

I shot my new Bowtech Realm SR6 at a 3D shoot this afternoon. I loved it! I can't get over what a smooth drawing bow this is.

Decided to pull the trigger and went to get a Mathews Vertix. When I got to The Great Outdoors in Jasper In. I shot the Vertix and then decided to shoot the Mathews Traverse. I ended up walking out of there with the Traverse. I liked the longer axle to axle length at 33". The bow tech there also shoots a Traverse and he had orders for 5 more Traverse's over the Vertix. He said the Vertix is Mathews flagship bow but the traverse is outselling it. I am very happy with my purchase.

My Mathews HTR is 32" and I have seriously considered two of Mathews 34" a/a. One is a Halon model and I forget the name of the other as it is discontinued. I guess my preference for longer a/a is why I can avoid the temptation to shoot the Triax which is 28" a/a. I had not read about the Traverse. Thanks for the heads up and congrats on your new bow! Thanks Jimstc for the congrats. The traverse is really dead in the hand and the draw cycle and back wall are awesome. The color I got was the optifade subalpine. I got mine at the Great Outdoors in Jasper In. for 834.00. Bob is the bow tech and really spent time with me and let me choose what was right for me. Heck they even fed me there. They has shrimp, potatoes and carrots made in a can cooker and pumpkin pie for desert. This was a fun experience buying this new bow there. Really good people.

My wife just went to the PO to get the mail. Mathew's just mailed out the 2019 catalog and it was in our box. She almost didn't give it to me! LOL!
