Spending that kind of money on an item that won't last that many years never has made sense to me.
But...to each, their own.

Spending that kind of money on an item that won't last that many years never has made sense to me. But...to each, their own. Exactly! I would really like to see a demographic analysis of bow hunters and would be real surprised to see how many are so rich, stupid or imprudent that they will spend that kind of money on a bare bow. It is insane.... Hoyt should learn from Parker or end up like them. Look at the other bows mentioned. $600 or 60% less. No way I am convinced that the Hoyt will make me that much better. Guess that Hoyt needs to get their production costs under control

The pricing is crazy, but people will pay it. My brother in law has a shop over in Sullivan county. Hoyt is what he sells. Amazes me how many he sells and how many people actually buy brand new bows every 2 or 3 years.

Inferior product. A cheap ($300) crossbow can shoot faster than that bow.

I just can't abide by that kind of thinking. Just me thinking out loud....

Go buy a top of line crossbow and see what yeah pay$$$$ True, but.... most crossbows come as packages and with the addition of broadheads are ready to hunt. I'm sure that one does not have to buy this Hoyt or the "top of the line crossbow" to have fun and kill deer/turkeys/whatever.

The top of the line Ten Point is over $2500 .... think the Hoyt guy could buy a sight, rest, quiver and have it setup and ready to go for under $800? Im guessing so.
Plus, this is for a carbon Hoyt. Their aluminum riser bows are a few hundred less.
All I know is that if they werent selling they wouldnt keep making them.
My Hoyt is a demo bow that I have $400 invested in. My Hoyt before this one was a demo bow that I have $300 invested in.
Last bow I actually paid retail for was a Bowtech back in 2007.

Yes, for $500 or less you can get a crossbow somewhere between 350-380 fps with nice scope and three bolts. Complete package. The one I used worked great for my 1st year. Took 9 practice shoots (sited to 50 yards) and one kill shoot at 160 class buck. Dropped in site at 50 yards. (1 at 20 yards) just a little left. Moved to 30 yards at 2 shots. A little more left (made adjustment), moved to 40 yards (3 shots, after one made little more adjusts, next two bullseyes, moved to 50 yards (2 bulleyes), move back to 20 (1 bullseye) done!!! The scope dots for distance (10 Yards) was spot on. No elevation adjustments, and twice from left to right. At 20 yards it was only a 1/4 inch left. Almost spot on out of box.
Once again Wisconsin took more deer with crossbow vs bow.
Hard to beat.

Some need the latest and greatest. Just wait and they will be used bows in no time then buy. Buddy had to have the latest Mathews every year. I just bought his used stuff at fractions of the price. Bows just don’t hold value at all.
