I posted previously in one of the sub forums but had not posted an intro yet. I am not new to hunting itself per sea, as my father took me out as a kid many times, but I moved to a city when I was 21 and have not been out hunting since. That was 20 years ago, so I am way out of practice. I actually started watching the Meat Eater show and listening to the podcasts which reminded me how much I really used to enjoy hunting. I lack a lot of experience, and have some nagging injuries which limit what I can do solo, but still get a lot of enjoyment out of returning to a more in touch attitude to nature and the food chain.

Welcome and nothing is better, in my opinion, getting out in nature and as you say get in touch with nature. Best of luck to you and it's never to late to rekindle something you thought was long and gone.

Your story sounds a lot like mine. I grew up hunting mostly waterfowl, and then for about 15 years didnt hunt at all. Then I came across the Meateater podcast and it rekindled and interest in hunting. Been back at it for 3 years now. What part of the state are you from? |
