Woody, can you add another doe to the total for Team #5? I shot one this morning with the .243, it was looking at me, bullet entered below the eyes, out the top of the back of the neck. For a HPR that doesn't leave much of a blood trail, it was a bit messy, but no tracking needed.

Team 5 whack em and stack em doe. 15 yd shot to the face. Looking right at me. Dropped where it stood.  Nice blood trail.  Believe it or not when I gutted it part of the heart was missing. Like a bullet frag traveled that direction and took part of the heart off. |

I usually save the heart and today when I field dressed mine the top of the heart had a bruise mark on it. There was no signs of trauma on the outside of the deer so maybe the shock of the bullet traveled down the jugular vein and did it? I'm shooting a 85g Barnes TSX so I doubt anything fragmented. My exit hole was about the size of a 50 cent piece. |

By the way the second rut is on up here, he was actively chasing a small doe all over the field.  After I shot this little guy, went and pulled my cards in the cameras. This is what was there, first time on film. Oh well I am happy with what I took, should be tender!  |
