So - I'm J-bird. I'm a lifelong Hoosier of 45 years. I'm a father of 4 and we have a farm in Decatur County where we have lived for 20+ years. I'm a grad of Indiana State university. I am a self taught deer hunter (started late in life in deer hunting) but grew up hunting small game and fishing with my dad and grandfather. I have since tried to introduce all my kids (now ranging from 14 to 22) to the outdoors and they all like to fish while only 2 really enjoy hunting. I have been doing habitat work on the farm for roughly 15 years and trying to walk a balance between improving the habitat and keeping the financial aspect of cash renting intact. My hunting success is fairly limited as I have yet to kill a "monster" - I have taken a few bucks in the 120 to 150 range, but all with a firearm. I am getting an error that says the forum has exceeded it's attachment space....... I was going to share a photo of the mounted deer we had taken off the farm. ![]() |

Well I hope you get the picture figured out. I use tapatalk it’s just a few buttons and then boom pictures

Hello. The buck in your avatar looks like a whopper! That buck was the biggest taken off my farm in both score and weight. The taxi called me as we had to get a different form for him because the form I had requested didn't come in a size big enough. If I get the picture posting thing figured out I will post up some pictures of him. His neck was swollen to the point it looked like it was ready to pop his head off! |
