A guy who was feeling lucky went to the horse track, but he didn't know the first thing about betting on a horse. So he decided to sit and watch and try to educate himself. The parade of horses starts and there is a priest and he makes the sign of the cross on the horse. When the race starts the horse takes off from the field and wins the race.
The second race is getting ready to start and as before the parade of horses comes around and the priest again makes the sign of the cross to a different horse and as before when the gate opens, like a shot that horse bolts from the gate and wins the race. At this point the guy thinks he is going to watch the priest and whoever he blesses from then on out he will place his bet, but he wants to make sure. Race and 3 and race 4 the same thing happens the priest makes a sign of the cross and the horse wins.
This time the guy watches the priest watches the priest make the sign again on a horse and then he runs over to place his bet. Like before the gate opens, the horse bolts making good time around the track and then on turn 4 the horse collapses and falls dead on the spot. The guy confused at this point seeks out the priest at the end of the day and asks the priest.
"Father when you blessed the horses they all won, but the last race you blessed the horse then he falls dead, why?" The priest responds, "My son are you catholic?", he responds "NO, I'm southern Baptist." The priest replies, "You clearly do not know the difference between me blessing the horse and administering his last rites".
