Make the drive to Texas. If your going to do it do it right. Where in Texas? I will be bouncing between Sulfur Springs and Bowie visiting clients this Spring, and again most likely this Fall.

Sulphur springs is pretty close to the house and there are plenty of hogs up that way. I know a couple of guys up that way who are outfitters and guides or you could do public land. I don't hunt public land so you'd need to do a bit of research

One client has a place where the tributary that feeds Lake Fork starts, but he's never had a hog on his place, but the neighbors across the street from him have seen them. Another client has 1400 acres near Miller Grove and while he sees a little bit of hog sign in the past 8 years, they are few and far between.

Shoot some or catch some with dogs? My country is a couple of hrs northeast of lake fork. If you want to catch some with dogs let me know when you are going to be in the area and maybe we could hook up. I'm at work more than home but who knows. Might get lucky.

Myself and a couple buddies are currently driving to Bankhead national forest in Alabama for some public land hog hunting, backpacking and backwoods camping. A big thanks to Lawrence County for pointing us in the right direction!

I'm flexible, something to throw in the cooler to bring home more than anything else. I'll give you a shout when I'm headed down that way.

Whats the story on this alabama hunting? Looks like the most reasonable drive for me I just spent 2 1/2 days trekking through sipsey wilderness and found not even a trace of hogs. That doesn't mean much though, it was my first time there and that place is huge. We met a few folks from the area that said they saw all sorts of sign and heard some hogs but never saw them. I will be going back next year for another go at it.

Farther south you go the better. They are getting ready to try out some poisoning of some hogs to see how that works.

Hog isnt really high on my list of things to do on a regular basis so I think Ive settled on a high fence deal in tennessee for Russian boar. Ill use a bow and I draw the line at bait and dogs so itll have some challenge to it.

Myself and a couple buddies are currently driving to Bankhead national forest in Alabama for some public land hog hunting, backpacking and backwoods camping. A big thanks to Lawrence County for pointing us in the right direction! To be effective on hogs in thick cover like most of Alabama and much of the area wild hogs reside in you need bait stations. Need to dump corn every day or have a feeder set so that the hogs get used to hitting it every evening. We don't even hunt mornings as you would come in in the dark and blow the hogs out, they are as spooky as deer. We hunt evenings, then stay well after dark and shoot them with aid of a light if necessary. It's perfectly legal many places and widely accepted. Hunted the same way in north Texas.

The only thing I know is a guy I work with, his dad owns a little property in eastern Kentucky. He told me that there were some hogs in that area. I don't know much beyond that, I could ask him some questions if you like.

There will still be no challenge with a bow in Tennessee.

Pet it first then draw back on it. After you shoot it they take the tag out of its ear. Hope that doesn't feel like a challenge.
