I always tell myself I'm going to go on an out of state Elk hunt, but I'm not realisticlly considering it until I get disciplined enough to give Indiana deer season my all.

So its points in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, and maybe some others. Drew deer in Kansas and applied for Maine moose. Being laid off due to Covid and paying for my 2 oldest getting braces has killed me the last few months.
Looks like I'm a shoe in for Utah general deer and limited entry proghorn next year.

Bank account got pinged a little bit ago. Picked up a 2nd choice deer tag for a doe in 3rd season, the only tag that I put in for other than preference points. Looks like I will have a decent chance at my first choice tag next year with 10 points. Now the only thing I am waiting for is the antelope draw in WY.

First year for the Secondary draw this year in CO before we get to actual leftovers. I put in yesterday for late season doe tags for deer and antelope. Both of the units had a few hundred tags left as the units are almost completely private land so they should be slam dunks. Got permission to hunt a buddy's small piece (40 ac) for antelope and have permission to hunt the same spot I took a doe in last year for deer.

I drew a cow elk tag to go with my deer tag in Montana! Saw a bunch last year when I was tagless, hopefully they're easy enough to find again.
Wyoming deer and pronghorn results come out next week, which will wrap up "application season" for me this year.

WY results are in and I will be hunting with an any elk tag and a antelope doe tag in the same unit. To go along with that I received my WY Disabled Veteran Season Extension permanent permit today meaning that any time from now on that I hunt in WY I get to start my hunt 5 days earlier than tag holders without a permit....BONUS!!!! Thank you Wyoming!!

Colorado Secondary draw CC hits happened today. I got all three of the ones I put in for.....late doe "c" tags for deer and PH and a late cow tag for elk. 5 tags for CO this fall, I BETTER put some meat in my nearly bare freezer.
Oh, and my WY PH tag showed up today!!
