Anyone else put in for the draw this year. Figured why not give it a shot. Haven’t put in for a few years, so decided to try again. Probably just a donation, but you never know.

Thought about it, but haven't yet. Been thinking about there and PA.

I used to, until I looked at the odds. Several years ago a cow archery tag was 1 in 69, a bull rifle tag was 1 in 700. I doubt they've gotten any better.
But I assume the money goes to a good cause, and I waste $10 on other things regularly (that was the fee last time I applied).

Still is $10 for each draw and there’s four different draws. I know a guy that’s been drawn at least twice and I’m thinking three times. First time he went down and killed a giant bull. Was on the cover of a website or magazine for a good while after he shot it.

Does Ky still pick the area that you will be hunting in? Do they allow 2 or 3 guys to hunt together? (i.e. all or none get drawn, and they all get drawn for the same hunting area)

Got a buddy in eastern Kentucky who drew a tag a few years ago and killed one.

Out of curiosity I looked up the odds again, found 'em for 16-17, didn't see 17-18 odds up yet.
A NR bull rifle tag was 1 in 764, or 0.13%. A NR bull archery tag was 1 in 767, or 0.13%. A NR cow rifle tag was 1 in 143, or 0.70%. A NR bull rifle tag was 1 in 137, or 0.73%.
Resident odds ranged from 4.3% to 0.72%, depending on sex and weapon choice.
I may apply again someday, like I said I assume the money goes to a good cause, but I wouldn't ever expect to actually draw a tag in my lifetime.

Well, the odds sure do beat the heck out of the odds of winning powerball.

The money use to go to help pay for the processing fee for Hunters feeding the Hungry.
