I went on a Coues hunt last month in southern Arizona. It was really fun, and we spotted well over a hundred deer and a few javelina. I foolishly passed a small buck early in the week hoping for a bigger one, and my partner missed a cross-canyon shot on a pretty nice one. So although we both should have tagged out, we came home empty-handed. Here are a few pics of the scenery..

That looks like a great time. What is the availability of tags for a non resident?

That looks like a great time. What is the availability of tags for a non resident? Arizona has several rifle hunts, most are easy draw (near 100%) except for the hunts just prior to the rut (which is January down there). There are OTC archery tags valid during the rut and also late summer, but after spending a week there I think the archery hunt would be extremely challenging.

I was wondering when we would get a write up. Too bad you didn't tag anything, but look at that scenery
