I went hunting on Saturday around 8:30 in the morning at Willow Slough , It's the nearest place near me as far as public land goes . Hunted hard for about 3 hours and didn't see a thing . Oh well I guess that's why it's called hunting . I was after pheasants , rabbits and squirrels .

I hate to sound like I'm whining, I'm just tired of not seeing any game when I go out . Especially when I just get off of work and had only 3 hours of sleep before work . Then all I end up taking are selfies. I think this up coming spring and summer I'm going to do some road work and home work and visit neighboring public lands and ask a ton of questions . And buy my Illinois hunting and fishing license as soon as possible for next year.

Moss: you should keep in mind that all public game preserves get hunted often and hard. The best chance for you is to get started on squirrel opening day,put in for the dove draws, and try the cleanup hunts right after the pheasant releases.
When visiting the game preserves get a map and ask them about satellite properties they manage, try to find those areas that others might not hunt because it's hard to get to.
