I wouldn't leave the crossbow cocked, as it will put too much continued stress on the limbs, and increase the chances of a catastrophic failure. The same would go for storing it in a vehicle. The repeated hot/cold cycles are not good for the structural integrity of the limbs. If I hunt all day the crossbow stays cocked all day, so that could be 13 hours or so. If I hunt an evening and am going out in the morning I'll leave it cocked for the morning hunt, so that could be cocked for 18 hours or so. No ill effects.. Never, ever leave it cocked in a hot vehicle..

When I am done hunting the bolt is shot into a target. I never leave over night or when not hunting. Makes me feel better. Plus I can check my zero.

I know I’ll probabl get yelled at but I’ve left my 10 pt Titan HLX cocked for 2 weeks shot it cocked it shot it and no problems no sight in problem 7 yr later still good as day I bought it 3 or 4 Days Common no problem

Forgot to shoot it after a hunt. I cant help it, I'm old. No harm.
