I calculated the ballistic of the my win308 shooting federal 150 grain soft point. So I have it set up at 50 yards to be 1/2" high, Average after 30 shots. 75 yards around 5/8" high 100 yards to be around /2" high 150 yards to be little more -1/2 low" Shouldn't have to do any adjustments at the deer up to 150 yards. My longest is around 130 yards. Caliber: 308 Win. (7.62x51mm) Temperature: 75 °F Bullet Style: Soft Point Wind Speed: 0 mph Bullet Weight: 150 gr Altitude: 700 feet Ballistic Coefficient: 0.313 Max Range: 500 yd Muzzle Velocity: 2820 fps Test Barrel: 24 in Sight Height: 1.5 in Range (yd) Drop (in) Wind Drift (in) Velocity (fps) Energy (ft-lb) 0 -1.5 0.0 2820 2648 50 -0.1 0.0 2681 2394 100 0.0 0.0 2547 2160 150 -1.2 0.0 2416 1944 200 -3.9 0.0 2289 1745 250 -8.2 0.0 2166 1563 300 -14.4 0.0 2047 1395 350 -22.6 0.0 1931 1242 400 -33.2 0.0 1820 1103 450 -46.6 0.0 1714 978 500 -63.0 0.0 1613 866 Since my gun was new last year I didn't have time to set it up per what I wanted. I just set it up bullseye at 50 yards. Getting ready for the bow and gun seasons. Need to shot my Matthews compound more.

Have you actually checked and shot the rifle at those ranges to confirm? Not that it matters much an inch or two one way or another on deer sized game, but actual shooting range results are often a bit different from trajectory furnished by the manufacturer.
Also ... Don't sell that .308 short, it's easily a 300 yard weapon once you get it figured out.

I know I can go out to 300, but right now no need. I just set it up so I don't have to think about any adjustments high or low when I shot a deer. Where I hunt it is hilly and I only have one stand location that I can shot to about 150 yards. I know even at 200 yards I don't have to adjust much. Just trying to reduce or eliminate things you need to think of during the sometimes quick moment.
