Pheasant put-and-take hunt reservations start at new time

This signup system has failed to work properly for the past several years with the crowning screw up being last year when they hired a private firm to handle the payment part and for some reason that company failed to go on line at midnight.
The DNR hotline for assistance was not manned until approx. 8:00 am and when they did open up the hot line they were overwhelmed with calls from upset hunters ( myself included ) because the system once again failed, this time completely.

Later that morning the system was fixed but by the time most people found out that it was back on line a lot of the golden dates were already taken.

I spoke in person with the deputy director of the DNR and explained to him about all the problems this system has experienced over the years and asked why they open it up at 12:00 am when no one is in the office to monitor this system and correct the errors as they occur.

I along with other applicants were given a Gift certificate good for 2 put and take hunts or it can be used toward the purchase of a hunting license.

In answer to dbd870's question; it all depends on the dates and the property you are interested in hunting.
