So the goal for Gunner's first 'true' season as a bonafide bird dog is to shoot a wild quail, pheasant, and woodcock. I know how to find woodcock on their migration. However, can anyone point me in the right direction of public properties for wild quail and pheasant? Figure I'll have to go way south and north to find em, respectively. I have applied for the draws as well. I live in Fishers/Noblesville.
On the off chance that someone has private property hosting these species, I would certainly love to see if we could work something out. I am always happy to get the dog out if you'd like to hunt behind him with me, do chores, donate to a charity of your choice, share the harvest, etc. I'm just a college guy willing to do literally anything it takes to give my dog the opportunities he deserves. If you would like to speak with others from the site who know me, happy to point you in the direction of a few guys.

Kankakee sands, KOP, pigeon river or any marshy type uplands for phesants. That is harder I think but not impossible. Just remeber it isn't like you see on tv and trust your dog.
Put and takes are great exercise for your dogs skills.
