If they only had CDAC's all the problem would be solved!

Hits every year. Just a matter of how bad?? Weather here in southeastern Indiana has been pretty good with rains every 7-10 days. Hopefully we wont have any extended dry periods rest summer..

Running 3 Real World Maximizer Mineral licks my farm. (This 2nd year). Let ya know if I lose any to EHD. In 13 years here I have only found 2 deer I suspect died from the disease. Hope to keep it that way...

I asked our DNR about any EHD reported deer and they said -
"Hey Woody,
We have not gotten any reports of dead deer likely to be EHD, or any that we have been able to go out and verify. Just a report of a dead deer here and there, but nothing above what would be expected from normal mortality."

News channel. Lex 18. Don't know about blowing it up, just what they reported.

I watched a Kentucky Outdoors show over weekend and it stated close to 4,000 suspected cases reported and mostly from eastern Kentucky. Most disturbing is the fact that the area IS NOT experiencing a drought year with above normal rain fall. Not sure what to take from that.

I saw that and never believed it's drought related. I used to dream of drought years to hunt water spots. No EHD then. My guess the small critters that eat midges are in low numbers or missing. Maybe a different insect is the root cause.

Maybe a different insect is the root cause. MY THEORY: Since introduction of Roundup ready crops and their increased use of glyphosate by farmer's. I suspect the deer ingesting the crops/more specifically the glyphosate is somehow lowering their immunity to the EHD virus and possibly other diseases??? In the last 20 year's as roundup ready crops and practices have become the norm EHD outbreaks are also becoming the norm esp. in the farm belt states. Just my theory.

There are so many fake articles for the public to believe. I will never buy Roundup ready seeds and or use glyphosate on food plots and garden plots. Bad stuff.
