We've had a Turkey Hen who has been frequenting our property since around March. More recently, we've seen her in our yard about 3-4 times a week. Well today, she had at least 8 chicks following her (might have been more, but 8 is all I could get close enough to spot). They were brown and were about the size of the chicks they sell at Rural King.
Should I put some food out for them to keep them coming around or just leave them alone?
We do have some red tail hawks in the area from time to time, but the crows that live nearby do a pretty good job of chasing them away - most of the time.

Thanks for the link. That article confirms what I suspected - don't feed them. I will heed that advice.

The hen with her 8 chicks (which have more than doubled in size since I first posted this thread) were spotted again yesterday. Seems like they are nesting in my woods near the road. I'm giving them plenty of room by staying away from them. I would get a picture but they run off into the thick brush as soon as we drive by.
