New deer trail has been cleared through the woods. I put a dozen cut apples along the way. Should receive the new trail camera to set up tomorrow evening.

Planted a new clover food plot today. Just finished and cooling down. It's the hill below my new wall. Hoping to beat the weeds. The hill is about 20 yards wide by 60 yards long. I received my mixer of peas/turnips/radishes this week for the new food plot in the upper field. Hope to spray the field in the next weeks and plant early August. It's allowed to bait in Ohio, but I don't, not a fan attracting raccoons and all the other critters.

Real World soybeans are getting a lot of attention. Just put out trailcam's yesterday so be interested to see what I get. Glassed field last night as well and saw several 3.5 and older bucks using the beans.

More rain. Should be a good year for fall food plots. I will be spraying the field this weekend and plan to plant in two weeks. My own mixture of peas, turnips, and radishes.

We'll be planting the kill plots here in a week or 2 and I'll show some more clover in my dove plot and then I'll hit it up with the or winter wheat here in a few more weeks. Really hoping to get my daughter her first deer off one of the 2 this year.

This is the smallest of 3 plots I put in in the last week, I'm all done now with planting . I think this is the earliest I've been done . I planted a 1 acre turnip spot , 1 acre fridged forage monster magnet , 1/4 acre clover , winter wheat ,forage radishes. Time to go fishing 🎣

Deer have eaten 90% of my 3 acre soybean field in Switzerland County but the good news is that my 2 acre corn patch is looking outstanding. We also planted forage oats and purple top turnips last weekend in 3 different spots. I am going down this weekend to see if anything has started to grow. We also put our trail cams out 2 weeks ago and have two monster bucks on cams. The 12 pointer only has 3 legs! It is missing one of his front legs and has a huge scar on his chest but the deer looks very healthy.

A 3-legged scarred up 12 pt sounds like a dandy trophy.
We had a 3-legged doe around here for a while. She got around well, jumped fences, and even had a pair of twins one year.

We got 2" of rain Monday night. Turnips are growing like jungle plants and the deer are already all over them. Some of the turnip bulbs already approaching baseball size, planted Aug 1st.
