Scrub- you could make a stock from some of that Osage. You got some skills!
That curly osage would look amazing as a gun stock. Getting everything to fit correctly worries me.

These drawings could easily be switched to a flintlock, just need a different breech plug. For a short pistol it would be doable to inlet the barrel. Now I said doable, not easy.
Another good book Recreating the American Longrifle by William Buchele, George Shumway, Peter Alexander. Our library had an older copy of it. Also the Track of the Wolf has FULL size pictures of locks, triggers, etc so you can make copies of them and use them in your plans.
