To celebrate the harvest of wild game and the coming of our first measurable snowfall the wife and I made a hearty breakfast. I marinated the tenderloins of this years deer and the breast patties from a pheasant, they were cooked outside in a cast iron skillet with bacon to supply the grease. The wife cooked up a mess of hen of the woods mushrooms, pierogi with various fillings and farm fresh eggs, we washed it all down with fresh OJ and coffee.
While I was outside it started to snow and they say we could get anywhere from 1-3 inches. Starting Wednesday we will be going into the deep freeze with temps well below freezing for at least a week. Maybe this cold front will held jump start a very sad waterfowl season.
