Thanks IIRC - A lot of the maps showed high water marks. Not sure how much rain they got there so the levels might be down. I recall a swampy area (which a deer I shot ran into and never recovered) one year and the next year it was dry as a bone. .

The one time we were drawn for there we weren't impressed. It was a madhouse and seemed like there were people everywhere. I know there's always some good deer killed and my uncles in-laws used to live right outside it so we had up to date information. I've never sent in for it since.

I ran into an old man and his son over there about 14 or so years ago that game me a map. I still have it. If I can remember I'll have to look. Remember that Woody?

We hiunted Muscatatuck yesterday and they do keep a close eye on how hunts. 2 Federal game wardens checked us. If your not drawn, you will get caught. Wardens were very professional and was glad to see them.

I understand that the main focus of this refuge is migratory birds, but if any "draw" hunt needs a year or two to rest and not be hunted, this is it. Several years ago it was opened to archery hunting all season long instead of after the muzzle loader draw hunts, as well as a massive EHD hit. The deer absolutely kn ow where the safe zones are and hunting is quite tough. If they want to be open for Archery, then they should probably drop the muzzle loader draws.
