Pic was taken Tuesday in Bloomington. Yes it is standing on a concrete pool deck.

I spoke to the deer biologist a few weeks ago he said there's a huge deer population problem in the city of Bloomington.

If that buck was standing outside my back window and I didn't have a bow, I would run into town and go get one. Then again, I live in the country, I would be saying "BBD".

This was outside of my office window this spring. The side walk and main entrance is about two feet away. I work in Bloomington near the assembly hall. I see deer often but not many bucks but definitely have seen some giants in town. I don't know that there is a major problem but there is definitely are deer.

I can't even begin to imagine what kind of idiotic nonsense would ensue if any sort of deer reduction effort was mentioned in Bloomington.

I bow hunted beside a subdivision with a friend a few years ago just north of Bloomington Speedway and we would see 20 or 30 deer every evening.

Oh they've talked about hunts there before but it goes absolutely nowhere of course. I worked at a bank right on college ave and we could look right out the window and see deer all the time.

Kinda makes you wonder what exactly has to happen before the DNR declares Bloomington or Monroe county as a Deer Reduction Zone?

I have a much better idea for contraception use in Bloomington, but I'll play by the rules and keep politics under my own hat.
It would be like bringing a bunch of Nuns to a frat party. The brothers might talk to them for awhile, but eventually the sorority girls are gonna show and boys will give them attention.
Have contraceptives EVER been proven effective for deer herd reduction? EVER I ask?

Most likely it would have to be someone important having a car v deer episode. NOT like the fine upstanding people on this forum.

IIRC goosepondmonster got urban access in bloomington last year. Not sure if he hunted it this year or not.

I decided this weekend that next year I'm going to put in a food plot and hunt my suburb neighborhood. Moor deer here than out in the country. You just have to put up with lawnmower, dog walkers and everything else, but it seems the deer don't mind.
