Three blades in my 100 grain Ramcats. 4 blades in my 100 grain Slick tricks. 3 blades in my 100 grain Spitfires. My preference is in order, but you can't go wrong using any one of the three I listed. This is with both my vertical Switchback and my Mission XB320 crossbow. Never used a Rage broad head in my life

3 blade 100 grain Muzzy. Cheap and effective. I tried 4 blade muzzys and blood trails were better but I had problems with blade failure.

2 blade rage, all I use. 100 grain. What I'm using now. Switched from another 2 blade mechanical that didn't open until it was past the skin on the entry side.

four blade 150 gr slick tricks for me in my crossbow.
I shoot grim reapers in my compound right now. I have shot 100 and 125 slick tricks with great success in it as well.

Just my opinion but rages are incredible. Shot 3 deer and the furthest 1 might have went 50 yards and the other 2 went down within sight! And boy do they put a hole in them!

I will not use rage broadhead again. Back to 3 blade fix 1 /1/8 wide. I had a huge 160 class 8 pointer Thursday (larger than my 153 class) coming right at me at 30 yards. Quartering to me. There was a 4 point below me so I had to shot into the shoulder blade. A 3 point fix blade will go through the shoulder. The rage hit perfect and reflected off the skin and only showed three inches of blood on the arrow. The rage was bent badly. The buck ran 30 yards stopped and walked away. Found no blood on the trail that he walked away on. Saw him again on Friday about 65 yards out. Had a 3" cut on the shoulder blade about an inch from the ribs.

Mechanical blades tend to not lock open once inside the animal, so a less than perfect shot will not continue to do damage like a fixed blade head will.

The buck I shot with bow at 47 yards with fix blade 1 1/8 wide went straight through and the buck just stood there and then dropped. It went in so easy and through it had no idea what hit him. Fixed blade forever.
