I like using expert GPS also. It has aerial and topo maps and interfaces with your GPS. You can mark a place on the map, like a pines or a pond and downloaded it to your GPS and go right to it. Or in reverse, mark a spot on your GPS and uploaded it to your maps to view where you were at. Very useful tool. You can use this for any state in the US, they are all on there.

Does anyone know of a different fountain county Indiana GIS map site? Looks like the county doesn't want their map out there for some reason. I will keep an eye out for when they re-release it.

Can anyone get a plat map of parke county and make it into a constantly updated user friendly website? Parke county will not do it! The plat books they sell are two years old. You can go into the mapping department and they will print out what you need from their gis info (just recent aerials and parcel lines and #). They don't have the money to put it on line. They honestly still use the big transfer books and old aerials to look up ownership.

I can't seem to figure out what's wrong, but for the last couple weeks when I click on Elevate (formerly 39dn), I get nothing past the opening page. No download ever occurs, just the opening page with a blue dot blinking in the middle of it.
Did Elevate just go to a subscriber-only service? I do get further pages if I click on the "help" button there, but it's all a sales pitch for their additional services to local governments and assessors.
Two weeks ago I was still enjoying the free roaming statewide and seeing property lines and poperty report cards as always, and now it appears to be available only by subscription, and the prices are $15/mo, PER COUNTY !!
Unless I've missed something, I'm seeking one of the other alternatives that are much cheaper.
I've enjoyed the free mapping service, but not enough to continue using it at that price.

It is working, you can sign in as a guest with your email or google. You may need to update your browser, or maybe java.

You might want to try a different browser. Each one has some features other doesn't, but none has them all. Two best are Chrome and FireFox.

Thanks for the tips!
Have been using Chrome for years. Checked the status and it says my current version is #63 and is the most recent version available. Have used 39dn for years before it became Elevate, and since it changed names. No problems at all during that time, including up until about two weeks ago. Then NO map download!
Switched my default browser to Firefox last night. Got it to "sorta" work, but it kinda sucks compared with what it was doing before. The info isn't as updated as it was, the controls are clunky, and the aerials are in an inset that is only maybe half full screen size. I will say the aerials seem to be sharper, but overall I'd rather have my old 39dn back.
There are several new toys to play with on the paid version demo, for those interested in doing artistic exercises with it or looking up politically useful stats, etc. But for just seeing the aerials and land ownership, which is all I ever wanted, It seems WAY overpriced and "improved almost to death".
Guess I'm stuck with the "new and improved" version I can still get free with Firefox, until I can find something that works better at a reasonable price. May have to actually get better acquainted with my "smart" phone. It looks like there may be more choices for mobile devices than for my desktop.
I have one, but never got comfy with it. Used the GPS feature to get to places and back home when I was driving vehicles for a dealership part-time, but much prefer the handier flip phone that I can toss in a front pocket of my jeans and charge up about twice a week. It doesn't play music and isn't much for conversation, but it does a good job of making and receiving phone calls, and doesn't have any exposed external buttons, so it's pretty much impossible to butt-dial half the people on your contact list by accident while you're mowing the yard. I even sent a couple text message on it.....on purpose! But I doubt that will become a habit 8^)

Finally got in again! Still don't know what the problem was, but today when I went back to 39dn site and clicked onto Elevate there, then signed in as a guest, it came up just fine and worked as well as ever, maybe even better than it was a few weeks ago! And that was still through Google, without switching temporarily to firefox as browser as I needed to do yesterday.
Thanks again for the assurance that it was still in there somewhere and working, as I'd have given up on it otherwise.
I've pretty much figured out light bulbs and simple direct current motors now but anything much newer is still black magic to me! Stumbling through a digital world with an analog brain 8^)
