Deer Creek for my group. Great fields but doves were scarce. Three of us took home a dozen in four hours. Had best weather ever and my lifetime achievement of two birds with one shot!

Me and the grandson got 3. When I shot the first one, he giggled. He couldn't stop laughing he was having so much fun. We had a great time. I have a hunting buddy.
We had to stop early as my daughter took me out to the Brazilian Steakhouse. She takes me out on the first of every month. She's a good girl.

Dennis, which steakhouse did you eat at? The one downtown Fogo de Chão. It was good, but still expensive. I hate to see her spend that much money on me, but she loves me. |

We never did get a bunch flying in at the same time. It would just be one or two, and the first couple we unloaded on it, but missed. We had so much fun just trying to hit them. I may try to get him out again tonight, but we have some chores to do first.

Dennis, which steakhouse did you eat at? The one downtown Fogo de Chão. It was good, but still expensive. I hate to see her spend that much money on me, but she loves me. My nephew treated me there for helping him deer hunt last year. I liked it a lot but I suggest the other briIzian type statehouse near the new Cabelas. Just about as good For less$. Think it's called Tusconos. I loved the grilled pineapple and fish with apricot suace. Fogo had better fillet minion imo. |

We brought 4 home today, and had an absolute blast! Neither one of us had any idea that it would be this much fun. All we can think about when we leave is when we're going back.
We both struggle hitting anything that moves, but at least he has a good excuse. I'm just the worst shot on this site. We laugh the whole time we're out there.
I'm introducing him to my turkey gun when we get back from the Vet reunion. Of course, I'll put a different choke in it for him, but he'll love it.
I'm going to use the double barrel that I bought this year. It will be the first time I've shot it. We're stepping up the artillery for these birds.

Let me tell you what. These things are not easy to hit. I went through a box and a half give or take a few the first day and 2 whole boxes the 2nd day. Had a great time and got a funny looking sunburn to go with it.

Went yesterday at a spot that has produced for 20 years, man were the birds scarce. Maybe after the corn is in they will fly better. Mornings or evenings, which is better so far?

We haven't done a morning hunt yet, but plan too. It was a slow night tonight ...they might be on to us.
We'll try a morning hunt this week.

Went out to goose pond on opening day. My friends got 3rd pick and I got 7th out of 62 parties. I shot 9, two other buddies limited out in 2 hours. I also got my first double that say. Was the best dove hunting day I've ever had!
