Nice buck! I've always wanted to try out a Black Widow. I'd have to assume they're a pretty smooth bow to have that big of a following!
Nice job and thanks for sharing! I always like to see bucks, but especially bucks taken with traditional tackle!
When was it published and where? I *think* I've seen it in TBM, but only Ozark sticks out so I don't know if it was your story.

Thanks 101-Before I got the wida' there were tons of choices for a nice recurve. After goin' to several companies and trying their bows not ONE compared to the Black Widow and those folks there are super. The story was in Professional Bowhunters Society,Arkansas Bowhunters Association,Bowhunter Magazine and Traditional Bowhunters of Arkansas.I want to say in 1998/1999 was the years. The title is October Ice Capades.Happy New Year.

Nice deer... I have a Bear Glass Powered 48... I'm only comfortable shooting it at 20 yards... So I usually take my P.S.E. compound... Comfort range is 30yards max... But very tight groupings...

The recurve is at home in timber. Instinct, function and simplicity are definite advantages but we focus too much on range. Bowhunting is seeing how close we can get to our advisary and make an ethical kill, while archery is seeing how far we can get from our target and hit the bullseye. Don't kid yourself, the traditional equipment is extremely effective but YOU have to decide what works best for YOU and the method in which you can harvest game quickly and ethicaly. Best of luck.
