This joker 'bout gave me a heart attack when I laid eyes on him!Hard to imagine ...:)He was taken in SW Arkansas on public ground with my Black Widow SAIII.There are a few really good spots to bowhunt in that part or Arkansas. We were going in by boat to access a small island on south end of the W.M.A..Pictures were taken of three dandy bucks(i'll post them on game camera pics) that were cruisin' this spot with a north wind. But this ole boy showed up and to be honest had me tore up!We had found an awesome terrain feature that really chocked down to an awesome funnel.A small hardwood flat , young pine cluster and river bottom willows came together about 60 yards off the river. He came from the pines and he was what I call "a slow mover",it would take him 10 minutes to go 5 feet!!!After I could see him, about 45 yards, the stand off was on.Now my distance with my widow is 25 yards so that 20 yards was grueling. He was attentive to every sound, near or far,but kept his cool and it was neat watchin' him process things. The shot ended up being 12 yards as I sent a Easton 2018 classic tipped with a Wensel Woodsman 3 blade thru his heart. This broadhead by the way is the single most lethal, mean head I have shot, and theres been dozens shot from equipment. If you are a traditional hunter give these a try, they were designed by Gene Wensel. The buck was aged at 6.5 with a 24" main frame 4x4 that scores in the high 130's and dressed a whopping 150#!Great hunt and I pray I will get to sit that location in the near future.
