Hunting in west central Arkansas near a small town called Mena with some good friends.We had went to see about tagging a local nuisance black bear that was reported to be in 400-450 lb. range. That is truly a nice bear anywhere but for Arkansas it's a giant. After a few days of no bear sightings the boys and myself were seeing some dandy mountain bucks so we shifted our focus.This nice 5x4 came in moving along a shelf I was set up on and gave me a 20 yard shot. PUT HIM IN THE TRUCK BOYS ! This buck was on the back side of thirty...lol..the game and fish put him at 7.5! A great trophy and my ol'Widow put another one down.I really enjoy hunting with the traditional gear,neat feeling.
