how big of an area and what's your budget. My inexpensive is different than yours.
For a plot at work I just bought a package from a well known indiana company. It was approximately $400 for a half acre.
I went with this company because of seed quality. Labor rates to prep and seed the place was more than the seed. But if I qere doining it at my property i may have figured differently.
Check with your local soil and water conservation district (nrcs). They may have a program for you to lessen the cost.

The city planted some along White River by work, and it looked really nice. The city probably paid $1000 for it.

I tried to post a photo of my weeds in my clover, so you could tell me what they were. Heck, I didn't know that it was a weed as the bag said that it had some chicory in it too. Well, I looked up chicory and it looked nothing like this, so a weed it is. These weeds grew taller than my clover, and was block out sun and robbing them of nutrition. I cut all of it, and will wait a couple weeks then spray Slay and Arrest Max on it. Then cut again about 3 weeks later. This should fix it up good ...at least this is what the Whitetail Institute told me to do. I think you could get a job there.

QUALITY SEED Quality is like buying oats. If you want nice, clean, fresh oats, you must pay a fair price. However, if you can be satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse... that comes a little cheaper!
