o.k. the story is: i was working security at fort harrison state park, when i got a call to come to the gate house, as i arrived, there was a car parked where it should be, there were two young folks sitting in the car, they wanted to know if they could bring this deer home to keep, of course i said no, my advise was , you folks need to take me to the exact spot(two miles away) you found the young fellow, this would be his only chance for him to survive, then i explained to them the mother was probably close by and she(mother doe) hides them for protecting them from predators, so thats' what we did, we took him back home!.........turkey scout p.s. just had to educate the folks and made a interesting day to work in a park!!

People just don't seem to understand that the fawn was most likely not an orphan.
Hopefully they remembered the area well enough to get him back close to momma.
Thanks for sharing...

chico, that is a very pessimistic out look. We all know that little guy will survive and become the new Indiana state record buck. h.h.

Isn't it really late for such a small fawn?
I take it, this happened quite some time back?!?
